ST. LOUIS • After a winter spent hand-wringing and ballot-parsing, the chewed-over Hall of Fame vote was officially announced Wednesday and the Tim Raines-led Class of 2017 introduced.
That can mean only one thing.
Time to start debating 2018.
This time, it’s local.
A wave of players who had significant roles at the beginning of the current Cardinals’ era are expected to appear on the ballot that will reach voters in December 2017. To be eligible a player must have at least a decade in the majors and be retired for at least five years.
