Garcia, Piscotty muscle Cardinals past Nats, 6-2

WASHINGTON • When last the Cardinals sent Greg Garcia back to Class AAA Memphis, all the utility infielder had was a .600 average.

Back for a cameo this week, he's now hitting .615.

That's only part of the contributions he's made in 28 hours to the team and it's more than enough for the Cardinals to reconsider how quickly they make a move with Garcia, who is set to return to Triple-A as early as Saturday when Matt Carpenter returns from paternity leave. Garcia led off the eighth inning Friday night with a home run that salted the Cardinals' 6-2 victory against host Washington at Nationals Park.
