Garcia not satisfied with latest outing

When Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia gets into a zone on the mound, manager Mike Matheny can detect a certain level of bizarreness to the lefty’s approach.

Especially when Garcia is healthy and right.

“We’ve been watching him close just like we knew we would have to,” Matheny said after Garcia’s Sunday start against the Colorado Rockies. “He gets to where he is with just two hits. A few walks. A tough, hot day to pitch, and he showed up and did a great job.”

Obviously, Matheny had a positive outlook regarding Garcia’s start Sunday. The lefty certainly has pitched well for most of the season — when he’s been healthy.
