Garcia is one-hit wonder for Cardinals

Before Yadier Molina embraced lefty Jaime Garcia and whispered something to him, the catcher handed over the baseball from the final out of Garcia’s career afternoon. That souvenir from Thursday’s game will join a few others Garcia has collected from postseason wins and previous shutouts.

Garcia took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, had more hits himself than he allowed, and authored the first shutout by a lefty in baseball this season in a 7-0 victory against the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium.
