A dominant performance by Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia and an offense that totaled 11 hits and two home runs turned Thursday's series finale against the Brewers into a 7-0 route.
Randal Grichuk and Jeremy Hazelbaker each hit two-run homers. Five Cardinals had multiple hits, including Garcia.
But the lefty's best stuff came on the mound, where he delivered a complete-game, one-hit shutout. Garcia didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning. He set a career-high with 13 strikeouts. The complete-game shutout was the fourth of his career. The one hit a career best.
The Cardinals improved to 5-4.
