Gant gets raise as Cards bank on pitching depth, survey market for offense

On the eve of what would have been their final weekend before jetting to Dallas for baseball’s Winter Meetings, that annual hothouse of potential activity, the Cardinals continued to work at home and cemented a deal with one of their own.

The Cardinals and righthanded pitcher John Gant agreed on a one-year contract for the 2021 season, the team confirmed.
