In his pregame press conference, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny revealed another change to the Cardinals' lineup. Catcher Yadier Molina will be replaced by Eric Fryer.
Matheny said the club wanted to give Molina a night off to rest his sore knee. Molina took a foul ball off the knee in Thursday's loss to the Phillies.
Matheny said Molina could have played Friday if the club needed him. In his place, Fryer will bat eighth in the Cardinals' lineup.
