After delivering two RBIs during the Cardinals' bludgeoning of Marlins starter Jeff Locke, Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright found himself on the other end of an offensive outburst in the top of the fifth inning.
The Marlins scored five runs in the frame to cut the Cardinals' lead to 11-5.
Wainwright had given up only two hits while striking out seven batters in the first four innings, but he allowed four straight singles to begin the fifth.
Martin Prado knocked a line drive into right to start the inning. The Marlins' two "JT's" -- J.T. Realmuto and JT Riddle -- followed with singles of their own to load the bases.
