An inning after allowing a two-out rally to the Pirates that was capped by a Jordy Mercer home run, Lance Lynn has allowed another two-out homer.
The Pirates lead the Cardinals 4-1 midway through the fourth.
Lynn forced ground outs from Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole and leadoff man Adam Frazier to begin the fourth inning, but then Josh Harrison knocked a solo homer to left that landed in almost the exact same spot as Mercer's.
In his career, Lynn had never given up more than 16 home runs in a season. After allowing two today, he has now given up 18 this year.
