CINCINNATI • Second baseman Greg Garcia, who didn't have a homer all season year at Class AAA Memphis, where he spent most of the season, slugged his second as a Cardinal in the fourth inning Friday night.
Garcia, facing Cincinnati starter Michael Lorenzen, found the right-center-field greenery and tied the score at 2-2. The Cardinals then missed a chance to go ahead.
Jon Jay doubled to right center and when the ball ticked off center fielder Billy Hamilton's glove and then was kicked by right fielder Jay Bruce, Jay, never hesitating, set sail for third with nobody out.
