JUPITER, Fla. • Right fielder Dexter Fowler and center fielder Tommy Pham will make their first appearances of the spring schedule and bat first and second, respectively, as the Cardinals take on the defending World Series champion Houston Astros here Sunday.
Marcell Ozuna, the third part of the Cardinals’ outfield which is considered among the best in the majors, will serve as the designated hitter.
Jupiter native Miles Mikolas will make his first stateside start in some four years for the Cardinals after spending the last three seasons in Japan. Former Cardinals closer Jason Motte also is slated to pitch, as well as Daniel Poncedeleon, making his first outing since being hit in the head and suffering a brain injury on May 9 last season while pitching for Class AAA Memphis.
