Fowler powers Cardinals to sweep of Pirates

The St. Louis Cardinals inched closer to .500 after completing a three-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday's affair finished 2-1 yet again, just like each of the first two games of this series. Dexter Fowler was the difference this time as hit cranked two solo home runs -- one in the third inning and one in the fifth.

Fowler notched his fourth-career multi-home run game and first since June 2, 2013.

The Cardinals received another stellar outing by a starting pitcher, this time from Michael Wacha. The Texas A&M grad twirled 6 2/3 innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits with two walks while striking out three.
