ATLANTA -- So often saviors with their gloves, Kolten Wong and Harrison Bader ventured from run prevention to run production on Monday to help the Cardinals reclaim sole possession of the National League's second Wild Card spot.
With an 11-6 victory over the Braves at SunTrust Park, the Cardinals opened a three-game series against the National League East leaders and kicked off the final two-week sprint toward October. St. Louis opened the penultimate week of the regular season one of three NL clubs with 82 wins. The other two -- the Dodgers and Rockies -- met late on Monday with the NL West lead up for grabs.
