If there has been a constant in Mike Leake’s pitching career it has been the coziness of home.
The only new starter to the Cardinals’ rotation this season sat in front of his new locker in his new clubhouse Monday and used the same adjective to describe each of the ballparks he’s called home for at least a full season.
Arizona State University’s Packard Stadium was “tiny.” Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park is “tiny.” Even his high school, out there in California pinched between Los Angeles and San Diego, was “tiny.”
“It was 300 feet,” he said.
