JUPITER, Fla. — Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty faced hitters in a live batting practice session at the club’s spring training complex on Saturday, the right-hander’s first time pitching to hitters in a competitive setting since the end of his injury-marred 2022 season.
Prior to the workout, Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol discussed the importance having Flaherty healthy and pitching well could have on the club this coming season.
“We have confidence in what he’s going to bring to the table,” Marmol said. “Everyone wants to compare can he be the Jack that we saw in (2019). Jack’s striving to be better than that.
