Doctors allow Molina to go home to recuperate

Hours after being hit in the groin by a 102 mph fastball Saturday, Yadier Molina was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery. He had sustained a traumatic hemotoma, and recovery from the injury will take at least a month, the Cardinals confirmed. Doctors recommended Saturday night that the swelling and pressure be relieved from what Bengie Molina called “a very difficult area.” Molina remained in the hospital overnight but was able to return home to continue the healing process there.

Pena spent some time with Molina at the hospital Saturday night and remained in contact with him as he returned home.
