ST. LOUIS -- A day after returning to the lineup following a minor groin injury, Tommy Pham exited after one at-bat with a head laceration.
Pham was removed from Wednesday's game against the Mets in the third inning, when Harrison Bader pinch-hit against Steven Matz. He flied out in his only at-bat in the first. The center fielder had been dealing with tightness in his right groin for a week prior to playing in Tuesday's opener.
Pham missed three of four games before he went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run and reached base five times in his return to the lineup on Tuesday.
