Bob Costas has won the Ford C. Frick award, presented annually for excellence in broadcasting, and will be inducted into the media wing of the National Baseball Hall of Fame this summer, it was announced Wednesday morning.
Costas joins a long line of St. Louis voices and writers to be voted into the Hall, including the Post-Dispatch's Rick Hummel, Bob Broeg and J. Roy Stockton, along with Jack Buck, Tim McCarver and J.G. Taylor Spink.
Costas began his career in St. Louis in 1974 by broadcasting games of the American Basketball Association’s Spirits on KMOX (1120 AM).
