ST. LOUIS • The generation of players that, 10 years ago, christened a new ballpark with the city's first World Series championship in more than two decades is going to be honored this season by the Cardinals and some will get the chance to be honored in perpetuity by the fans.
Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III revealed the eight names that are on the ballot this season for the fan vote that will select two players for the club Hall of Fame's Class of 2016.
They are:
- Chris Carpenter
- Keith Hernandez
- Jason Isringhausen
- Mark McGwire
- Matt Morris
- Edgar Renteria
- Scott Rolen
- Joe Torre
Three of the eight names are new to the ballot, and they leap straight out of 2006 onto it.
