Carpenter will rejoin Cards in Cleveland

CLEVELAND • Cardinals third baseman Matt Carpenter will join the team Tuesday in Cleveland, as planned, general manager John Mozeliak confirmed Monday afternoon.

Carpenter missed the weekend series in Pittsburgh after the team’s medical staff determined that it was “time to back off,” Mozeliak said.
