ST. LOUIS • Peoria power hitter Jim Thome and former MVP Chipper Jones headline the list of 19 newcomers to the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot that will reach voters in the coming week. A handful of former Cardinals, including Cy Young Award winner Chris Carpenter, also dot the ballot for the first time.
The new ballot, which is due by the end of the year, includes Scott Rolen, Jamie Moyer, and Cardinals all-time saves leader Jason Isringhausen in addition to Carpenter -- all for the first time.
Larry Walker remains on the ballot.
