It was three years ago today that tragedy struck the St. Louis Cardinals when highly-heralded prospect Oscar Taveras and his girlfriend, Edilia Arvelo, lost their lives in a drunk-driving accident on a rain-soaked road in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. This loss affected many of us in many different ways, but none within the Cardinals organization more so than Carlos Martínez. Carlos and Oscar were childhood friends living out their dreams of becoming major leaguers together. Today he remembered his friend and posted a photo of them together:
