Cards win in extras behind Gyorko's RBI single

CINCINNATI -- The Cardinals squandered an early 5-1 lead and Bud Norris blew a save, but an RBI single from Jedd Gyorko in the 10th inning saved the day as St. Louis earned a 7-6 win in 10 innings over the Reds at Great American Ball Park.

The Cardinals, who improved to 8-0 this season vs. the Reds, entered the bottom of the ninth with a 6-4 lead and Norris on the mound. After a 36-minute rain delay, Scott Schebler belted a leadoff double to the left-center gap and scored on a one-out base hit from Joey Votto, who was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
