CHICAGO -- The Cardinals' postseason chances will survive a while longer after the club snapped its four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field on Saturday afternoon.
Cognizant of all that was at stake in Game 161, the Cardinals turned a spectacular start from Miles Mikolas into a season-salvaging win. The celebration was tepid, though, as players and staff quickly shifted their attention elsewhere. It will take a win by the Giants, who face the Dodgers in a 3:05 p.m. CT game on Saturday, to keep the Cardinals' National League Wild Card chances alive going into the final game of the regular season.
