LOUIS -- After sitting out the first round last year, the Cardinals used their top pick this year to draft Nolan Gorman, a third baseman from Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Arizona, on Monday with the No. 19 pick in the 2018 Draft. The selection of Gorman adds exceptional raw power to a system low on sluggers outside No. 2 prospect Tyler O'Neill.
Considered one of the top slugging prospects in this year's class, Gorman leaped to the top of Draft boards after winning two of the country's most prestigious high school home run derbies last summer.
