CHICAGO — Mark Reynolds had not shattered glass playing ball since he was about 8 years old.
"I remember playing stickball, and I swung, and the broom stick slipped out of my hand and went right through a window," Reynolds recalled.
Now the Cardinal has a new story to tell.
So does David Brown.
A strong wind blowing out of Wrigley Field on Sunday afternoon made for an entertaining Cardinals batting practice as the club prepared for Monday's Game 3 against the Chicago Cubs.
"Little yard," Reynolds said. "We were just having fun."
Brown, a 24-year-old engineer who relocated from Philadelphia to Chicago (he has adopted the Cubs after rooting for the Phillies growing up) had spent his morning with friends at the Chicago Marathon, and was headed to the beach later that afternoon.
