The Cardinals announced they have recalled right-handed reliever Mitch Harris for Saturday's Fourth of July game against the San Diego Padres.
Harris, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, appeared in 16 games with the Cardinals this season. His earned run average stood at 3.63 in 17 1/3 innings pitched. He was optioned to Class AAA Memphis two weeks ago when the Cardinals called up Xavier Scruggs and infielder Greg Garcia.
As a result of the roster move, the Cardinals have optioned Garcia to Memphis. He was hitting .417 in 10 appearances with the Cardinals.
