With plans to shell out more than $8 million, the St. Louis Cardinals will upgrade the video equipment at Busch Stadium for the 2016 season.
Tony Simokaitis, the club's director of scoreboard operations, was unavailable to comment. But the P-D's intrepid beat writer Derrick Goold confirmed that the high-tech tune-up was going to happen.
Goold, who is covering the MLB winter meetings in Nashville, said the plan is to replace all video boards and cameras with high resolution equipment.
The organization made video-board news last week when Springfield, Mo. news outlets reported that the parent club's Class AA affiliate will upgrade the boards at Hammons Field.
