CINCINNATI • Another in line of young, strong-armed and athletic pitchers that the Cardinals have brought out of Latin America in recent years will get a larger stage Sunday afternoon.
Maybe.
Luis Perdomo, a righthander from the Dominican Republic, was a late addition to the Futures Game roster. He took the place of the Cardinals' top righthanded prospect Alex Reyes who could not appear in the game because of a sore shoulder. Perdomo, 22, is set to appear in relief for the World team, but according to the pitching order released by the teams.
Perdomo has been one of the most reliable starters in the Cardinals' organization this summer -- a breakout candidate at Low-A Peoria.
