JUPITER, Fla. • The Cardinals, after being throttled by collegiate power Florida Atlantic University for seven innings, struck for 12 runs in the eighth inning, four on Jacob Wilson’s grand slam, to erase a 6-1 lead and post a 13-6 victory over the Owls, who had won their first seven games of the season.
Third baseman Patrick Wisdom, who played at Class AA Springfield last year, knocked in four runs in the inning, two on a double and two more on a rallying-finishing homer. He then made a strong defensive play behind the bag in the ninth.
