ST. LOUIS -- Tommy Pham is getting his chance. With outfielders Jon Jay and Matt Holliday on the disabled list, the Cardinals recalled the 27-year-old Pham from Triple-A Memphis on Friday afternoon. He will start in center field for the second act of a four-game series between Cardinals and Padres at Busch Stadium.
Before his callup, Pham homered in back-to-back games for Memphis and was hitting .338 in 24 games this year despite starting the season on the disabled list with an injured left quad. He hit safely in 13 of his last 14 games at Memphis.
