MILWAUKEE • In one sense, Miles Mikolas wondered if this day would ever come again. In another, it was a day he could only dream about.
A struggling reliever in the San Diego organization and unsuccessful starter at Texas, Mikolas signed on to pitch in Japan in 2015.
“The first year, the plan is to work your way back,” he said. But then he re-upped for 2016-17, and after compiling a 14-8 mark and 2.25 earned-run average for the Yomiuri Giants, he had another decision to make.
“I was kind of caught in the middle,” Mikolas said.
