Cards lose Walden for six to 10 weeks

The Cardinals got more bad news where their pitching staff is concerned. Reliever Jordan Walden will be lost to the club for a period of six to 10 weeks as he rests a strained subscapularis muscle in his right shoulder.

The 27-year old righthander was put on the disabled list over the weekend and had an MRI taken on Sunday. The scans were then sent out to be read by a different doctor, with a second opinion being sought. The Cardinals received the results of that second exam on Wednesday and general manager John Mozeliak met with the media before the Cardinals played the Cubs at Busch Stadium.
