WASHINGTON • Told by the Cardinals to prepare for a short stay in the majors, infielder Greg Garcia admitted Saturday that he did have “these visions” of what he could do to change the club’s plans.
“You might as well try to go get four hits and hit a homer,” he said he told himself. “Let’s see what happens. What have you got to lose? That’s how I treated it. Funny how it all worked out. If I don’t hit a homer? I don’t know what kept me up here.”
Well, it wasn’t just Friday’s home run.
