LOS ANGELES • Back from the disabled list Tuesday and ready to join a bullpen in flux, Cardinals lefty Tyler Lyons could find himself in a more prominent role than ever before, if he’s given the opportunity described by the manager.
Lyons, who has had two DL stints already this season, has usually been cast as the Cardinals’ long reliever, sometimes mothballed for more than a week just in case of emergency use. With fellow lefties Kevin Siegrist and Brett Cecil searching at times this season, Lyons returns to a bullpen different from the one he left, and his role could see a shift.
