The St. Louis Cardinals snapped a four-game home losing streak Saturday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over the San Diego Padres.
With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the eighth, Tommy Pham, who made his 2015 debut with the Cardinals on Friday, reached first base on an infield error. He had already doubled earlier in the game, which was his first major league hit.
Pham then stole second base on Matt Carpenter's at-bat. He moved to third on Carpenter’s groundout to third base.
Then Pham tagged up on Jhonny Peralta’s flyout to right. He bolted toward the plate, slid and was called safe to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead.
