ST. LOUIS • The Cardinals posted two four-run innings on their way to an 8-1 home victory over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday night.
The Cubs struck first in the second inning, scoring a run off Cardinals starter Michael Wacha. It would end up being the only run Wacha would give up in his six innings on the mound.
The Cardinals retaliated in the fourth, their first four-run performance on the night. Six batters recorded hits off Cubs starter Donn Roach, who was making his 2015 debut. Five of those hits were singles, and the Cardinals came out of the inning with a 4-1 lead over their NL Central rival.
