MILWAUKEE • The Cardinals first move after arriving in Wisconsin for a weekend series against the Brewers was to add some immediate depth.
The team recalled lefty Tyler Lyons from Memphis, where he had been a starter, and to make room on the active roster the team sent infielder Greg Garcia back to Class AAA.
Garcia had made his first career start at shortstop on Thursday in the Cardinals' 3-0 victory at Cincinnati, and he drew an intentional walk from the Reds. He was hitting .350 (7 for 20), with five of the hits coming in pinch at-bats.
