Michael Ohlman was still a month or so shy of his one-year anniversary as a Cardinal, yet his recent reaction to seeing star catcher Yadier Molina in a cast during Winter Warm-Up festivities matched the lurch felt by fans.
“That was kind of hard to see,” Ohlman said. “I’m sure a lot of people feel that way.”
Molina, an All-Star in seven of the past seven seasons, sets quite the precedent for Ohlman, and every other catcher under the Cards’ umbrella. Yadi is the Gold-Glove-shining example, from Memphis to Peoria, Ill.
“He controls the clubhouse,” Ohlman said.
