MILWAUKEE • After tripping over themselves Sunday with a heinous eighth inning, the Cardinals found just the team to help them back up and back ahead again.
The Milwaukee Brewers, meandering toward the end of the season, committed an error in the top of the ninth inning that allowed the go-ahead run to score from first base without the ball leaving the infield. Seung Hwan Oh did what his setup men couldn’t and held the lead for a 6-5 victory Monday at Miller Park.
On a bunt by Yadier Molina, Brewers third baseman Jonathan Villar got a forceout at third base and then tried to whip the ball over to first for the difficult double play.
