PHILADELPHIA • With one out to get in the 10th inning and a game ripe for the stealing, Cardinals left fielder Marcell Ozuna rumbled toward a slicing line drive and determined, in a blink, to dive for the ball and make a play that would secure the win. He did not make the catch.
A ball that got past Philadelphia’s catcher allowed the Cardinals back into the game in the ninth, and the liner past a lunging Ozuna ended the game in the 10th.
Aaron Altherr’s two-out double zipped past Ozuna’s outstretched glove and skipped to the wall, allowing two runs to score for the Phillies’ 6-5 victory Monday night at Citizens Bank Park.
