JUPITER, Fla. • Jordan Walden is “fully healthy” and ready to pitch in Cardinals camp, the relief pitcher said upon his arrival Wednesday afternoon to Roger Dean Stadium.
“I rehabbed all offseason, and have gotten up to a 40-pitch bullpen, and I've done about six of them,” said Walden, who missed the majority of last season due to rotator cuff and labrum damage in his right (throwing) shoulder. “Everything feels good, I'm just excited for a fresh year.”
The 6-foot-5 reliever sported a thick, Jason Motte-like beard as he briefly touched base with his bosses on report day here.
