Cardinals Use “All Around Game” to Dominate Homestand

Let’s flash back to Monday, April 27th, the first day of the St. Louis Cardinals first extended homestand of 2015. Confirmation came down on Adam Wainwright’s season ending Achilles Heel injury, and Yadier Molina and Jason Heyward were also missing due to injuries.  It was doom and gloom for the N.L. Central division favorites. The Cards lost against Cole Hamels and the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-1. They wouldn’t lose again until May 6th against the Chicago Cubs. After polishing off a Thursday victory, powered by John Lackey’s 7.2 efficient innings and RBI double, the Cards went 9-2 on the homestand and carry a Major League best 21-7 record on the road to Pittsburgh tonight.
