As I type this morning blog entry, Wong and the Cardinals' former closer, Seunghwan Oh (he has asked to spell his name that way since leaving the Cardinals), are on the field snapping pictures and talking about the Little League World Series. The team from Wong's Hawaii and a team from Oh's Korea will play each other this afternoon in the championship game at Williamsport, Pa.
Wong injured his right leg while trying to outrun a groundout in the second inning of Saturday's loss. His absence was felt from that point on. The bottom third of the Cardinals' lineup offered no resistance against the Rockies, and there were a series of defensive plays not made as the Rockies pulled away for a 9-1 victory.
