JEFFERSON CITY • The Kansas City Royals may have won the most recent World Series, but a St. Louis lawmaker thinks the Cardinals should be the official baseball team of Missouri.
Rep. Courtney Curtis, D-St. Louis, has introduced legislation that would relegate the Royals to second-tier status in the Show-Me State.
The proposal is unlikely to go anywhere when lawmakers return from their spring break next week, but Curtis' idea has raised the ire of fans of the Major League Baseball team on the west side of the state.
After news of the legislation hit Twitter Tuesday night, the response to Curtis was quick.
