LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. • Offense had been scarce at Champion Stadium on Saturday, so Paul DeJong's line drive against Braves reliever Peter Moylan jumped out.
The Cardinals and Braves had combined for six hits (five by the Cardinals) when DeJong hit the top half of the wall in left-center to score teammate Tommy Pham from first base.
Pham beat out the throw. DeJong arrived at second standing up, then jogged off to cheers from a sun-baked crowd after he was replaced by pinch-runner Wilfredo Tovar.
Randy Arozarena's ground-ball single to center field scored Tovar.
