It's reunion weekend here at Petco Park for the National League pennant-winning 1998 San Diego Padres, but until Saturday evening's Padres Hall of Fame induction, it's been Gyorko who has stirred the most conversation of any former Padre. He did not start Thursday night in the series opener despite batting .500 with a slugging percentage north of 1.000 in his first 10 games against the Padres. When he did score a start Friday night, he had three hits, including a home run, and reached base four times as the Cardinals defeated the Padres, 9-5.
The Cardinals have Gyorko back at third base as they ready for the third game of the four-game stay in San Diego.
