Seeking to streamline their spring roster to fit the limited space and choreographed time they will have for early workouts, the Cardinals are bringing a handful fewer players to major-league camp, but the fields will still be peppered with prospects.
Top prospects Nolan Gorman, Matthew Liberatore, and Zack Thompson headline a group of 27 non-roster players who will report to Jupiter, Fla., next week. The group of non-roster players also includes former first-round pick Delvin Perez, a shortstop, and slugger Luken Baker.
The Cardinals’ pitchers and catchers report Wednesday.
The first full-squad workout will be Monday, Feb.
