Last week, before a start in center field, Tommy Pham, his headphones on and beats playing, stood alone in the outfield at Citizens Bank Park and tried to see what he could see.
The Cardinals’ outfielder has had difficulty with his left contact lens, the one that helps him see in an eye that is legally blind without it. He has since ditched that lens and gone back to the one that has worked for him most of this month, yet the quest continues not just because of what he needs to see at the plate but because of what he didn’t in the field.
