The Cardinals have not figured out Giants left-hander Matt Moore in their first turn through the order.
Randal Grichuk has the team's lone hit -- a second-inning single -- in the Friday night affair. He later stole second, but was stranded when pitcher Michael Wacha struck out looking.
Entering Friday, the Cardinals had hit almost 30 points lower against lefties than righties -- .265 to .238.
On the mound, Wacha has thrown up two zeroes as well. He gave up a leadoff double to shortstop Brandon Crawford, who was then sacrifice bunted to third, but got out of the inning after getting Christian Arroyo to ground out and Moore to strike out.
